OLSAT Tutoring

We offer in-home tutoring for the Otis-Lennon School Ability Test (OLSAT) structured around the specific academic needs of each student. The OLSAT is an exam used by primary and secondary education institutions as a way to assess the academic progress of students from year-to-year. Additionally, some schools may use the test as a way to find particularly gifted students. Ultimately, the OLSAT is performance marker for teachers and administrators, and it is a reliable way to figure out a student's academic strengths and weaknesses. Students may want to perform well in order to gain admission to accelerated or concentrated academic programs. We offer a three-step program that will integrate actual test materials and pinpoint each student's strengths and weaknesses in order to dramatically improve scores on test day.

The OLSAT is broken down into 21 subtests within five major subject areas, including verbal comprehension, verbal reasoning, pictorial reasoning, figural reasoning and quantitative reasoning. The test is typically administered at schools and is scored on a curve. Students who perform exceptionally well will be placed in a higher percentile (e.g. 99th percentile, meaning the student performed as well as or better than 99 percent of the students who took the test at their grade level).
